The fifth revision to the popular Grand Theft Auto series developed by Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto V is the first game of the series to feature an open world environment. The game was released on 17 September 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and was released for the PC on 14 April 2014.

Gameplay

Rockstar Games has been developing the Grand Theft Auto series since 1997. The first game was released in 1997, while the fifth game in the series is the most recent. The first four games have been developed for PC, Playstation and Xbox, while Grand Theft Auto V was released for the aforementioned platforms and Microsoft Windows. The game is the first in the series to feature an open-world environment, which is what separates it from previous installments.

In Grand Theft Auto V, the player may switch between three main characters, each with their own story. All three characters are members of the criminal underworld and have been wronged in one way or another. The player may switch between them at any time, and each has their own different skill set and abilities. The three characters consist of Michael, who used to be a successful bank robber, but has now retired to a life of luxury in Los Santos; Franklin, a former gang member trying to live a straight life; and Trevor, a Canadian psychopath.

Graphics

Grand Theft Auto V features a new engine, the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), which is meant to be significantly more advanced than the engine used in Grand Theft Auto IV. The game features a day cycle, which is a first for the series. This allows the player to experience a game that is more varied in terms of gameplay, and the graphics are more dynamic.

Replayability

The game features a variety of side missions, which can be completed for cash prizes or to help out certain characters. These missions help to improve the player's relationship with different characters. There are also a number of businesses that the player may purchase as part of a strategy to earn money.
